High-end Bag Metal Nameplate

Two-tone zinc alloy bag nameplate with a plated logo on a powder coated field

Material: Zinc Alloy Die Casting

Application: Bags & Apparel

Secondary Process: Deburring, Tapping, Grinding

Surface Treatment: Electroplating, Powder Coating

Lead Time: 7-10 days

Product Advantages: 1. Built for the high end, with a surface free of defects — a nameplate is the most visible metal part on a bag, so a single pit or flow line gets magnified. The standard is set by the brand rather than by the industry minimum, and it holds up to close inspection. 2. Plating combined with powder coating for a distinctive look — bright, matte and two-tone finishes are all possible and chosen to match the brand, so one design reads at different tiers without a new die per finish. 3. Modular tooling cuts die cost sharply — one frame runs several designs, so adding a variant in the same series does not need a complete new tool, and small runs become viable. This is the most concrete cost advantage on nameplate projects. 4. 7-10 days, in step with the bag industry’s seasonal cycle — production starts once the colour is approved, so it lands before a launch, and repeat orders reuse the same shade and tool so the colour does not drift from the first batch.

Overview

A bag metal nameplate is a small part that decides how expensive the whole bag looks. It is cast in zinc alloy, ground flat, then finished two ways at once: the raised logo is plated bright while the recessed field is powder coated in the brand colour. The contrast is what makes the mark read at a glance, and it only works if the casting is flat and the edges are crisp.

Typical Applications

Luggage, handbags, wallets and small leather goods, where the plate carries the brand mark on the outside of the product. The same casting and finishing route covers a Bag D-Ring Buckle and the hardware on a creative and cultural hardware range, so a collection can be finished in one batch.

Manufacturing Capability

Plates are cast in zinc alloy on machines from 88 to 168 tonnes and ground flat before finishing. Several plate sizes are usually built into one combination mould, which is why tooling for a nameplate family costs far less than a separate tool per size. Grinding and tapping are done in house, and the plated face is inspected against the brand colour chip before the recess is coated.

Why Work With Xiuhui

Xiuhui has been die casting zinc and aluminum in Dongguan for over 20 years. Leather goods brands judge a nameplate by its surface: any pit, polish mark or shade difference is visible under shop lighting. Plating and coating are therefore kept in one shop and checked against a signed sample, and repeat orders run from the same tool.
